beetroot-juice and sunshine on the cemetery. Today everything is plain grey, good thing there is always something beautiful to look at on line. I don't have as much time for discovering new things anymore and I feel like i need something fresh. Luckily i have all of your blogs and all of your links, so i just need time. Here is what i put in the juice: three apples, ginger, six carrots and two big beetroots! Happy sunday!

▶ Lina: Yes, and to think we almost bought something totally boring like clothes she doesn't really need and then luckily we saw the giant mushroom and fell in love!
▶ Ai: ha ha, i might start a production of grown-up sized baby clothes! it could be a whole new market!
▶ Ella: I know, vi gik lidt for langt.. tænker at billederne fra kirkegården kan suge op noget af the cuteness!
▶ Saga: I didn't want to say, but the mushroom does cast a spell on you so you can't stop looking, or maybe its elinor..
▶ Roxanne og Ditte, Emma: Lets write Anne-Clair Petit and ask her to make a g i a n t version for grown-ups!

a mushroom to sleep on

We bought this giant Anne-Clair Petit mushroom with a gift-certificate Elinor got -Isn't it delicious? She seems to like it too.

totem

We needed some more storage room for all of E's stuff! Birth, Christmas and baptism = lots and lots of presents. So we bought some shoe storage from ikea and turned them in to a totem pole!

▶ Lisen: Yes, he was a very intelligent dog! I don't think singing is wise thing to teach your dog though! The pictures in the dark purple dress are from her baptism -its the same dress me, my sister and ivan wore and my mother made it!
▶ Petr: Funny that snow covered trees looks the same everywhere!
▶ Emma: Thanks -and funny that you called her a parcel! thats what we call her all the time: Pakke -or "pakke der kan snakke" (a parcel that talks -its from a danish childrens rim)
▶ Lina: Thank you -so is the cold :)
▶ Brit: Yes, i love that frown too!
▶ Emma from 50 danska kvadrat: hi hi yes -and sometimes she would be startled and her arms would go up in the air :)

and the rest

and this is what the rest of my Christmas looked like; snow, family, friends, my sisters 30th birthday, Elinor's baptism. Its still freezing cold in Denmark and many parts of the country has been hit by snowstorms. But not Copenhagen. Here we just have the freezing cold and the weird feeling of January...

▶ Emma: uhhh real mice! such a dilemma -so cute and yet not cute at all to have around...

▶ Hubbub: Sure -my camera is an olympus 510e with the lens that came along when i bought it. Sometimes i also show pictures taken with my little samsung digicam or my phone.

mice

One of the absolute best gifts i got this christmas was a tiny, little, white porcelain mouse from my friend Jette. I just think its a brilliant idea! now its looking for the right spot to hang out in our apartment -being so small and so easily lost, its not easy! but it seems to have made friends with the porcelain skull i gave D for christmas.

▶ Helena: Yeah, i hear that babies often look like their fathers in the beginning, so he won't be in doubt.. and then the mother becomes clearer and clearer
▶ Maikki: I know, he can look so much more noble than he really is :)
▶ Lisen: My mom loves dogs and they love her too, but she is so allergic that even medicine is not always enough. She would like a standard poodle one day, since they are supposed to be more allergy friendly and she grew up next door to a giant one named Bamse :) Actually my parents have owned two boxers before she became allergic! it was before i was born, but i do remember visiting one of them who moved in next door to my grandparents. It could "sing" a childrens song -"se den lille kattekilling" :)

doggy christmas

in case you were wondering, Rufus had a pretty good Christmas too. I think he prefers his everyday life, but he did get to play a lot in the snow and meet this cute little golden retriever named Tilde. Our joined Christmas posed a problem, since my poor little mother is allergic to poor little Rufus, but my mother took some extra medicine so Rufus got to join in and walked around the tree with us!

dress up

Elinor inherited a cute little knitted dress so she could be a cute little christmas girl - otherwise bodysuits are the only sensible thing to dress your baby in! wish i could get away with wearing a full body wool suit!

▶ everyone: He was a great santa -though a little scary too since he was a grumpy and drunk postman :) but quite funny! And Elinors hair keeps amazing everybody everywhere! i keep photographing it, cus it just does not seem real!
▶ Lisen: The cups were a gift from D's family -they are by the danish designer Anne Black
▶ Svanna: Tusind tusind tak! Jeg havde aldrig forestillet mig at jeg skulle have en lille rødhåret pige, men jeg føler mig ret så heldig!
▶ Sandra: Oh there should be! actually i think there sort of is! in Denmark kids can borrow a "grandparent" if they haven't got one close by and their parents need some help!
▶ Jane: D's hair was red when he was a kid and is much light now -i was born with dark hair, then it turned blond and then it turned dark again! so you never know!
▶ Saga: ha ha that is so cool!

grandchild

being a grandchild seems like a pretty good deal.

joint christmas

This christmas was quite a piece of math with one grandchild, two aunts and four grandparents. So to make it all add up we had a joint christmas all together: D's parents and sister joined us at my parents house. And of course Santa Claus stopped by! This year it was postman-santa! quite fitting with the red, danish postal-uniform! The only ones missing christmas eve was my sister and her family who went to norway. This is the first christmas we have spend apart. things are changing.

winter

its a cold winter in denmark so far with lots of snow around christmas. Im building up to my christmas recap with these snow pictures from my parents place. Today it snowed a little again and the lakes in copenhagen are frozen. I only saw it when i passed by them in a bus on my way to Ikea. What a way to spend a sunday.. but its part of my new years resolution: getting things done! Which means going to Ikea on a sunday instead of postponing it for ever..
