breakfast >< brunch

Every morning before I go to work I eat oatmeal porridge - but every morning I dream of brunch. I eat the porridge only because it means I won't get hungry before late in the afternoon, but really I can't stand the gooey consistency. Im getting used to it and fresh cut apples helps A LOT! ...but still... I made the brunch in the picture for D and I last Sunday. Its pancakes with jam + bacon, fresh mozzarella and rocket salad + sliced oranges + a mango-OJ smoothie + coffee for me of course! mmm.. beats porridge every time! what do you eat for breakfast??

Brit: That is the best line ever!
Kim: Yeah -the masks suits the person really well and the cat mask is really brilliant!
Veja Cecilia: I loooove a good love-story!
Bombay Beauty: Awwhh i like Paul Varjak! i don't know about George Peppard -i have never seen the A-team, but Paul Varjak is so sweet and such a good guy and has such beautiful blue eyes!
Maria: Just take your time with the tag! and you really should see it! it is easily one of my favourite movies!
Sarah: Yeah it can be really refreshing!
Kate: I want to hear what happy, happy noises sounds like!!
Anne: I is just a real classic!
Louise: Do it!
Brinja: I sort of feel like im supposed to get a crush on holly, but i really like Paul because he is so... real? a good guy? sweet!
Ninja Hanna: I love that everybody just agrees on that!

I am the same in that I must have oats or I will be hungry, recently I have got back into making granola with oats as it is a very tasty (crunchy!) way to have oats :)

You are killing my morning productivity - now I can only think of that brunch! But you are firing my imagination for this Sunday! BB

P.S. In the U.S. I find everyone dreams of "light and fluffy" pancakes. But my dreams are much closer to what you seem to have achieved - not as thin as a crepe but just thick enough for some toothinesss. And when they are thin enough, then just a spoon of jam (or just a drizzle of maple syrup - my Canadian youth showing her, but believe me good maple syrup is not sickly sweet...) suffice, rather than drowning them under a tidal wave of gooey syrup... i eat oatmeal porridge for the same reason, but i actually like it - with cinnamon and apples. but still, a brunch (with friends) beats everything! it might even be my favorite meal.

I've been eating cereal for breakfast for the same type of practical reason, but I don't like it much. And bacon adds such a nice salty flavor to sweet pancakes, yummm.

i usually eat cereal, sometimes oatmeal. on the weekends i make my fiance a lovely breakfast of french pressed coffee, o.j., waffles, fresh fruit, and fake bacon.

your pancakes look divine.

Woo Hoo.
Masterchef Mette, that looks like a killer brunch!

I have oatmeal porridge too. I eat mine with with raisin and lots of fresh fruit.
but there are porridge oats and then there is porridge oats :) I usea a particular type of gently milled oats which have a bit more spring and taste to them so it doesn't get too gooey...
