mimosa

do you know the mimosa plant? i just bought one this weekend because i think it is so funny! its a pretty little green thing but when you touch it the leaves close up and the branches move away! i love plants that react! it goes to bed pretty early though so around 18.00 it closes up totally and does not open until the next morning...

> Emma: i was walking along the docks in malmö to get to school and when i looked down the water was full of them! so many and so silent
> The bear is so cool i want to invite him to dinner! manet = jelly fish = vandmand(dk) :)
> Diana: i was really surprised to see so many in the harbour! i will keep you updated on base experiments!
> .girl ferment.: yeah i don't like the idea of swimming with things other than people and maybe dolphins though i have never tried it. if i get the idea into my head that there are big fish below me i can not get it out again!

Haha! Those plants grow as weeds here! I loved them as a kid.

NAAAWH!!!! I remember them from my childhood as well!! My grandmother used to have one, and me and my twinsister wanted to touch it all the time, like.. stood there beside the plant, waiting for it to "wake up" again so we could touch it again. crazy fun!! Poor plant! ha ha. And it looks beautiful.

We have them everywhere here. I remember as a kid and now, with Enzo, zipping our hands up the stems. Then throwing handfuls of little leaves up into the air and letting them fall back down on us.
I forgot about the touch thing but thanks for reminding me :)

so mimosa, a word we use in poland and even in germany for a very sensitive person, comes obviously from this plant personality. hm. and then I wanted to say that since I follow your blog I started to like colourful geometrical patterns. thanks, it is an enrichment. you collect them very carefully, your patterns.
