D's present overload!
i have to get started on showing you D's birthday presents! there were so many good ones it will take several days! and i will start with one of my absolute favourites! if you looked in on my housetour some weeks ago, you will probably know that my father, besides looking like a cross between Barack Obama and Sean Connery and being the priest who married us this summer, also paints beautiful paintings! and he gave D this haunting portrait of Marilyn Monroe that he painted! wow! its suits us so perfectly!
coffee and the paper
nothing better than coffee and the paper in the morning... I made a new bag! Rufus evidently thought he was the main event, but really i wanted to show you the grey bag behind him! its really big and has got a little mini-bag inside it..
> All: YES -i made all the sushi all by my self! i Always DO. -As Emma said you get so much more when you make it yourself and its super super easy! mmm.. if you want some tips-ask away, but i make pretty basic maki rolls!
> Hanna: Totally because of Crystal Castles! We love them very much -especially D! i actually think hes got this shirt both in white and black..
> Júlía: Just do it! sushi is so easy, and its a cliche, but you should be able to get a hold of fish in iceland:) The last Obama picture is such a beautiful moment! Don't you just know and love a moment like that? when you are together all quiet.
> Emma: Seriously i could eat sushi for weeks and weeks!
> Kaelina: Your comment was SO fantastic to read exactly because you could feeeeel the emotions and excitement! such a precious moment! Congratulations, what an extraordinary election to make your first!
> Kim: we have thought about adopting an old racing greyhound, because once they can't run the fastest, when they are maybe 4 years old, they are not worth much to the owner. we don't have much dog-racing in Denmark though and we would love to let Rufus race with other dogs for fun!
> Lisen: R is a booozer -always going for the beer instead of the sushi!
> Lottie: I really love the glass too, they are so pretty and short!
> Sopchan: Nothing better -especially a good weise beer!
> Maria: The good thing about sushi is that its so easy AND cheap -and you can cut the fish to save money and just do ones with avocado or mango and stuff!
> .girl ferment.: What a delicious tradition!
Wednesday
you know what i like
you know what i like? sushi on a monday night
> Júlía: how cool is that!! i love polar bears!
> Hanna: i was worried too -you never know with those americans! i think Obama must know about Richardsons previous work -thats whats cool about the man:)
> Lisen: i have seen the bee all around the city and i like it very much too! you should see rufus in action -its really impressive!
> Fine little day: i think so!
> K: Thanks for voting!
> Kaelina: So good that you voted in spite of all the challenges! now we know!
> .girl ferment.: he really is a handsome man my dad, but i don't know if others will see the obama in him if they don't know him! its in the style -and also obama is more of a young version!
(btw now you can follow me on blogger or bloglovin or share ungt blod other places through a link in the sidebar!)Follow my blog with bloglovin´
thanks for voting!
i was up at 5 this morning to check the election results -coincidently that was the very moment they decided here that Obama had won! thanks to everyone who voted! here are three of my favourite photos of the u s president to be. two by Callie Shell and one by Terry Richardson. -a random little known fact about Obama is that he really looks a lot like my dad! (Barack Obama + Sean Connery = My father :))
Tuesday
colour of nature
mexico >mexico shot is from the selby, which i love but haven't mentioned since i know you are all reading it all ready, right? so much personality!
> Maria: I can't wait to hear your facts!
> Tommy: I know it was so special to be wed by your father! such a special and personal speech!
> Lea: Jubiii, det var nogle gode facts!
> Famapa: I think the word verification might be stalking you! have you felt somebody following you around? im going to try to stay up late and get up early early to see some of the election fun
> Mieke Willems: WHY did we not know about koala cookies?? when have been looking around online and found this :) i will have to find some!
> Júlía: Oh how cool! i never knew they had black skin -seems sort of stupid -is there a scientific (or biological) reason for it??
Monday
7 random facts
As i said, i got tagged by Famapa! for seven random facts about me. Doing this tag i realised that i think i often tell you pretty random facts about my self, so it was kind of hard to find seven new ones! but here we go (the photos are following famapas theme aswell: seven of all the many photos that does not find its way to the blog):
1 im very interested and informed about the american election, even if i have no influence and the influence on me might me minimal. i listen a lot to npr and slate podcast so i end up knowing more about american politics than danish.
2 i love sleeping. i love lying in bed and i can sleep almost no matter what. one of the things i got for my birthday was a fantastic down comforter.
3 i study rhetoric though i spend most of my free time on all things visual. often i can't work out if this dualism is healthy or crazy -or if i should have switched the two.
4 i have never lived on my own. D and i moved in together when we both left our parents home -even though we had only been a couple for two months.
5 my father is a priest and he married us this summer.
6 when i have to buy something new or start something new i research it to death on the internet. When we got Rufus i knew every thing about every dog breed and exactly why whippets were perfect. Rufus was the last puppy left at the breeder so luckily we did not get a choice there. he was a bit shy which is probably why he was left behind. thank god.
7 im very very messy! i love things and i love having all my things lying around me. i do acknowledge that our home looks good when its all clean, but from day to day, i really do not mind a mess! i thought i would grow out of this, but i have not yet.
-now for the tagging! i have to tag 7 for this one, and thats alot, but since i did not tag anyone for the last one, i better get tagging: Lea, Brinja, Maria, Sandra, Kristi, Svanna and Anne
> Tricia: Ha, ha -fantastic! Do you know that they might start it up again??
> Carolina: i never really got in to family guy, but so good to here from other Futurama fans!
> Alice: :) i must say i do not remember the last time i had smørebrød my self! not a favourite here either!
> Sandra: He did not sit on it, but he did, of course, try to eat it!
> Joanne: Yeah, they are fantastic, huge bear feet to keep me warm!
> Svanna: Ret sjovt at få en kommentar på så gammelt et indlæg -hvad lavede du dog der?? :)
Sunday
b t w
did i ever tell you about D's birthday? probably not because it was just before and just after the honeymoon and i haven't yet gotten around to photographing all the great presents.. wait a minute! just before and just after?? how can that be? well, we had a little birthday celebration the day before our honeymoon with friends, cake and a fabulous concert with Of Montreal! well, actually the concert was very mixed but it was fantastic for me since i discovered how much better i liked their music live than recorded! the performance artists on stage was another thing -mostly annoying! And then the day our honeymoon ended was D's real birthday -with just the two of us, gifts and of course cake again! i will show you some presents too because there were some pretty great ones among them.
4th of 4th
i got tagged twice! once by famapa and once by joanne! the tag by famapa for seven random fact about me will have to get a bit more thought, so here is the fourth of fourth game from Joanne: Basically you have to go into the fourth (picture)folder on your computer and choose the fourth picture and share. I found it quite difficult since i don't think my archiving system is suited for this game, but i did find this fourth picture in the fourth folder in my internet-photo-research folder. The theme of the folder is robots since i some months ago got a sudden thing for old timey robots, but the robot in the picture is of course Bender from Futurama -and he is no old timey robot i tell you, being from the year 3000! This could actually be one of the random facts about me, though i do think i have mentioned this before: i know all the lines to every futurama episode ever made -and partly the first movie too (the second one was a bit of a let down, right?). When D and i lived in reykjavik there wasn't much good on tv on the one channel we were able to watch so we bought all 4 seasons of futurama and watched them repeatedly! over and over and over and over again. and for the tagging -even though its a really lame solution - think i will not tag anyone new for this, since i will have to tag 7 for the next tag game.. silly-sunday-excuse.
> Lynn&Horst: :) -actually D is a koala too! i made him a Koala suit once but i don't know where it is now.... - and the talisman drawing really is quite perfect! thanks for the link!
> Charlotte Tollstén: thank you so much! so glad you like the blog!
> Emma: OH: MY: GOD: that sounds SO perfect! now i will have to spend the rest of my life looking for such a bag!
> Joanne: I know the sign is insane! i would so like to know what the person who made it was thinking! -im sorry that im not tagging anybody new for this challenge! my sunday mind wont do it -hope you forgive me!
> Anne: yes they are. i have never seen such a little one -so young that is all white! crazy animals!
> Bettina: man kan aldrig få nok af rufus!
> mor: yep! sigrid har også lavet et flot mønster (er overrasket over at du ikke kommenterede på rufus i wegner stolen...:))
Saturday
halloweeeeeeeeen
there are only two things i like about Halloween and that is skeletons and THIS SONG. (don't get me wrong, i love dressing up, but in Denmark we have another holiday for that)
> Famapa: you are too sweet! -and: I love that word!! Adykilit! i can't totally see the round, old lady screaming for her husband -as she does no matter the subject -she always screams for ADY! Kill it!
> Joanne + When skies... (+ emma): Ha, ha ha ! i so love your interpretation of the sign! "pleas don't shove your child in to the wild animal pit" :) :) it says "Don't crawl up!" and the weird weird animal with the strange strange hand is actually a baboon! -and Joanne; thank you for the tag! i will get on i!
> Louise: Jeg er lige nu på vej til zoo for at stjæle dig "find tiger" skiltet!
> Emma: Yeah we lived for about a year in reykjavik! i thought everything was expensive then, so i can't imagine how it is now! it would be great to go there with Danish kroner now though! We both loved it and definitely had to go back home again :) you do feel the isolation and it is definitely more fun if you have the money for a car and eating out and so on. I do miss it sometimes though!
> Bettina: Så godt at høre at du er der ude et sted :)
